Therapeutic Massage

We offer Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage!

Consider this excerpt from a Newsweek article entitled “The Magic of Touch”:

“Scientists are now finding that massage can reduce blood pressure, boost the immune system, dampen harmful stress hormones and raise mood-elevating brain chemicals such as serotonin. And you can’t beat massage for relaxation. Babies fall asleep faster when massaged than when rocked – and they stay asleep, rather than waking the moment Mom tiptoes away. All these factors, says Tiffany Fireld, founder of the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, put massage in the same category with proper diet and exercise as something that helps maintain overall health.’…

And here are some more findings:
In April of 2001, the Archives of Internal Medicine found that massage was effective for providing long lasting relief for patients suffering from chronic low back pain.
In 1990, a study was published indicating that massage was better than a cold pack for treatment of posttraumatic headaches.
A 2004 study in the University of Miami School of Medicine explored the effects of massage therapy on carpal tunnel syndrome and concluded that the patients receiving massage experienced less pain, reduced symptoms and better grip strength than patients that did not receive massage.
And the list goes on and on!

Here is a list of the types of clients our massage therapists see:
